The postpartum period is unique and requires special care just as your pregnancy did. Once the baby is born your body begins to make many quick changes to adjust to supporting your infant. This period can be very difficult for many women, that is very normal. Acupuncture and massage have a lot to offer to help your body adjust this new experience. For example, breastfeeding is not easy, there are often sleepless nights, and a feeling of let down or the "baby blues". You may notice symptoms associated with the hormonal changes such as changes in your skin and hair, and menstrual cycle once it returns. Through the use of a combination of acupuncture and herbs we can do a lot to make these smooth transitions.

Having a baby is a huge change in the life of a family, no matter how prepared you are during pregnancy. This can be emotionally and physically stressful for both parents and baby. Taking an infant massage class as a family can be one of the most powerful tools to aid in bonding with your baby. Many fathers report this gives them a tool to bond one on one with their baby.

Infant massage not only is a great bonding tool but also has been shown to help improve development of the nervous and circulatory system and well as improve the baby's digestion. This can be a great treatment for a fussy or colicky baby. Classes are offered one on one or in a group setting in a series of 4 classes. Please feel free to call for more information.
